#2: Last minute packing

Warm clothes, etc. for DC

Warm clothes, etc. for DC

If this is the first installment of the Inauguration blog that you’ve read, you might want to back up and start on the January 6th post. Just so you know what it’s all about.

Well, tomorrow David and I  leave for Washington DC and the real adventure begins! I haven’t packed yet (my least favorite pre-trip chore) but I’ve got everything I need to stay warm and to continue blogging. My laptop and David’s iPhone are the two most important non-clothing items we’re taking.

Since my last post I’ve been visiting classrooms at Davidson, White Hill, Miller Creek, Delmar and Beacon Day. It’s been a lot of fun telling students about the project, showing them how to post comments and all of that. Over 50 comments have been posted already! I really hope you keep up that level of enthusiasm  while I’m gone ’cause I’ve got to tell you, as a blogger, if I don’t get people posting comments I start to wonder “Hey is anyone reading this stuff?” So please, let me know you’re with me!

And since I am doing this for you (don’t you feel special?) is there anything in particular (aside from the traditional Swearing-in Ceremony) that you want me to check out and blog about while I’m in Washington? (Museums, memorials, monuments, etc.) Post your ideas here!
