We Are One crowd from above. The arrow points to where we were standing.

You know how when you’re hearing really great music performed live and you just feel like dancing? And if you’re with a few friends and they’re into the music, well, you can really get into it.

Well imagine 500,000 really happy people listening to some of the world’s best pop musicians… and you start to get a sense of what yesterday’s We Are One concert at the Lincoln Memorial was like. And let me tell you, when Bruce Springsteen, Mary J. Blige, John Mellencamp, Stevie Wonder, and Beyonce (to name a few), start doing their thing, we all got into it. Even Barack and Michelle were bopping to the music!

No words can really capture the feeling of what this concert was like, so I’m just going to let the pictures tell the story. Enjoy!

Before the concert, we're pretty far back!

Annie, before the concert. See the Lincoln Memorial behind her? That's where the stage is.

  1. It’s awesome that you can document the inauguration and the events leading up to it. When Obama gave his speech, it gave me an great sense of patriotism. Thanks so much for giving the students an “in person” look at this historical event!

When we watched the inauguration seeing all the different presidents half of them i didn’t even know. I felt happy and nervous but the speech almost made me cry knowing that Barrack Obama was going to help the nation fix its economy, better schools and health care. I love this site and what your doing for teens i hope you have a awesome time in Washington D.C.

  7. Hey, Its so cool that you took pictures of the inauguration. I wish I was there. We watched it at our school today, this morning. But it is not the same as actually being there. Its so exciting to actually be alive, when the first African American president was elected. We are so lucky.
